This weekâs Fan Friday spotlight shines on Kelsie Dobbins from Fredericksburg, VA! Kelsieâs planning journey is a wonderful reminder that creativity and function can beautifully coexist â and that planning can be a fulfilling, personal outlet (even if youâre not an influencer!).
đââď¸ Meet Kelsie
Kelsie first discovered the Happy Planning Tips & Tricks Facebook group right before New Yearâs of 2023, and thatâs when her planning journey truly began. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a passion â and by January 2023, she was already diving into sticker planning full force!
Kelsie describes her style as functional, taking inspiration from Plan with Ilysse. âI need boxes and checklists every day,â she says â and we totally get it! Her spreads strike that perfect balance between structure and creativity, helping her manage life as a working mom of three with a spouse who runs his own business.
đď¸ Planner of Choice
Kelsie currently uses the Happy Planner Big as her catchall. Itâs where everything comes together â family, work, sports, school events, holidays, and more. Her monthly view is especially important for keeping the big picture in focus.
đ Why She Loves PlannerKate
When it comes to stickers, Kelsie is all about variety and versatility.
âI can always find something to add to a spread from PlannerKate no matter what other stickers Iâm using,â she shares .And her absolute must-have? The monthly kits! âThey make decorating my monthly so easy â thatâs always been a hard spread for me to decorate.â

đ¨ Favorite Planning Tricks
Kelsieâs planning has evolved a lot since she first started. These days, sheâs confident mixing sticker books, scrapbooking paper, and even creating her own stickers on her Cricut! She personalizes each week based on whatâs happening â soccer stickers for her kidsâ season, travel icons for family vacations, and thoughtful touches that make every page feel truly hers.
𩵠Kelsieâs Monthly Spread
For Kelsie, the monthly spread isnât just decorative â itâs deeply functional. She uses it to track appointments, bills, school and sports events, holidays, and even health-related notes.
âI have never been consistent with tracking my periods (for medical purposes) until I started using this system,â she says.
As a busy mom juggling so many moving parts, this overview helps her stay grounded and organized while still enjoying the creative process.
đŹ Words of Wisdom
Kelsieâs message to the planning community is an important one:
âNot everyone needs to be an influencer in this community. Itâs okay to just use planning as a creative outlet for yourself.â
We couldnât agree more! đ
