Today we're highlighting Kate's hard work and are excited to share a recent spotlight by @aliciamayphotography and her Lunch Hour Edit blog, a project she started about a month ago to connect and network with fellow small local business owners.
Alicia's intention was to photograph and get to know fellow business owners during their lunch break. Alicia loves supporting other local hustlers and bringing attention to what they have to offer in the community. 🖤
Here's the article from Alicia's Lunch Hour Edit featuring Kate:
First up is Kate Antesberger of PlannerKate. All production and order fulfillment is located in Fremont, Ohio. PlannerKate provides high quality stickers, organizational kits, and accessories. Her mission has always been “to enhance the joy of planning and self-expression.” Her personal project turned into a flourishing brand with over 2 million Etsy sales and even more from the web.
She grew up in Michigan, but has deep roots here in Fremont and has resided in Ohio for over 19 years. Kate is married with two very active sons. She went to college at Western Connecticut State University for a bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s in business.
Her business began as a hobby, and after friends wanted to purchase, her Etsy shop led to her leaving her remote accounting position at IBM, New York. PlannerKate officially launched in 2014.
This self-proclaimed introvert, work-a-holic, planner, organization, sticker lover never planned to be a boss babe. But Kate now has a staff of 5—including her husband. Yep, her booming business gave him the opportunity to quit his job and join the team.
𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦?
NOT GREAT! I work A LOT! But my kids & family always come first, so I just try my hardest to be where I need to be. 🙂 My boys were 1 and 3 when I started PK so they have grown up with the crazy!
𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 2012, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘰! 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘮, 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭?
Haha, I think we are more hidden locally than we are around the country. I started PK in 2014 when the hobby of decorating your planner was just getting popular. It has been amazing to watch the community grow and expand like it has. I think we started at the exact right time which allowed us to have a large following on social media which drives a lot of our business. I am so thankful for that!
𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵-𝘬𝘯𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?
We did! I think a big part of it is that I have always been the main contact for all things PK…. I think our community loves knowing when they have a question or need assistance they still get ME. 🙂 I am still very involved in all steps of the running the business. This has always been super important to me.
𝘖𝘬, 𝘴𝘰 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴? (𝘐𝘧 𝘴𝘰, 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵!!!)
Wait…. So I have a friend that helps with my social media – Jennifer at HappyPlacePlanning. You might be thinking of HER handwriting. I get compliments on mine, but her handwriting is far superior! Haha. But yes, she does have a font that we have available for custom scripts ONLY at PK. 🙂
We think that Alicia did a fabulous job with the photography and we are so excited to share her work with you.
